Osteoporosis literally means porous or honeycombed bones and is a degenerative disease of the bones. Diet is of utmost importance in the treatment of osteoporosis. It must comprise of seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits. High intake of mineral rich foods such as whole grains, seeds, oatmeal, milk and milk products such as yogurt and cottage cheese is recommended. Foods rich in lactic acid such as sour milk products, millets, rice, oats and barley should be included in the diet.

Sesame Seeds are highly effective for reducing the pain of arthritis. Take a teaspoon of sesame seeds and soak them overnight in a cup of water. Give the cup of water, along with the seeds to the patient early morning.
